FireWatch™ IPDACT-2 and IPDACT-2UD are IP interfaces, listed for other transmission technology signaling and compliant with the requirements of NFPA 72. Both models connect to the main communication ports and sub of the DACT panel of the control panel, which converts the analog to digital signals at the panel for transmission to a compatible Teldat VisorALARM PLUS IP receiver at the central station. The control panel operates normally in the event of an alarm, monitoring or malfunction and sends the same contact ID formatted information out of the telephone ports to the IP Communicator. IP Communicator reformats data highly encrypted UDP Ethernet packets for transmission to a compatible receiver at the central station.

Alarms are received simultaneously at both the central station and the customer premises. A filter can be applied to suppress specific types of alarms such as crash-only events.
