Honeywell's 5808W3 is a lithium-powered 3V photoelectric heat/smoke detector with a built-in wireless transmitter. It is designed for use with any 5800 Series Wireless Transmitter/Receiver for residential installations (for commercial installations, 5881ENHC or 5883H receiver is required). The transmitter can send alarms, tampering, maintenance (when the control panel is equipped to handle maintenance signals) and battery status messages to the system's receiver. Smoothing algorithms minimize nuisance alarms by smoothing short-term spikes dust and smoke - virtually eliminating nuisance alarms. Since there are no holes to drill or wires to run, you can preserve the beauty of the building while protecting it. The 5808W3 is an ideal smoke detector for locations where wiring is difficult, applications where room aesthetics are important, or where hazardous materials exist. All models also have a built-in, fixed-temperature probe (135°F) that is also capable of sensing pre-freeze if the temperature is below 41°F.

The easy-to-install, sturdy mounting base allows the probe to be more easily mounted on uneven surfaces (e.g. mortar). The mounting base has larger mounting ports that can anchor drywalls for easy surface mounting.
