Diode Shunt Isolation Module for IFD-E (IS) Fire Detectors Hochiki Isolator Model Z728 is an intrinsically safe, Zener-diode barrier used in conventional fire detection systems Usually for protection in hazardous areas.
Each Zener's two-stage Container is pulse-tested or forward-connected diodes and terminating resistors 'can't go wrong'. In the event of an electrical fault in the safe area, the diodes limit the voltage that can reach the hazardous area and the resistor limits the current. Fuses protect the diodes, and two voltage-limiting stages ensure continued safety if either stage fails. No active output current limiting circuit is used. The instrument is certified 'ia' for all zones and 'IIC' for all explosive atmospheres. PLEASE NOTE: Earth connections to the unit are made via a connection to the DIN rail (this product MUST be grounded).
- Simple installation onto standard DIN handrails
- Detachable color-coded terminals for easy connection, accommodates conductors up to 2.5 mm
- The input circuit is protected against reverse polarity
