Detailed description of Viking VK2543
Viking VK2543 standard common response, horizontal dry, heat sensitive spray nozzle suitable for use in frozen areas. Designed for dry systems and containment systems where it is necessary to prevent water or condensation entering the nipple prior to sprinkler operation. Viking VK2543 can be installed in frozen spaces and powered a wet system in an adjacent hot area. Large orifice side dry sprinklers allow greater flow at lower pressures than standard orifice sprinklers.
The deflector is newly carried and approved for expansion for installation 4 to 12 12 below the ceiling. Conventional Standard Response, Dry Head, Horizontal Direction Horizontal sprinklers are available in different finishes and temperature ratings to meet design requirements. Special coatings of Polyester and Electroless Nickel PTFE (ENT) have been studied for installation in corrosive environments and are listed as corrosion resistant by cULus as outlined in the approval chart.
NOTE: When the Viking VK2543 is installed in some corrosive environments, the Polyester finish may change color. This natural discoloration over time is not a sign of corrosion and should not be treated as such. All nozzles installed in corrosive environments should be replaced or inspected as described in NFPA 25 on a more frequent basis.
