Device Isolation Module Z787 used for Hochiki fire detector
Model Z787 is an intrinsically safe Zener-diode isolator, used in conventional fire detection systems for protection in hazardous areas. check pulses or forward connected diodes and terminating resistors 'can't go wrong' In the event of a power failure in the safe area, the diodes will limit the voltage that can reach the hazardous area and current limiting resistor. Fuses protect the diodes, and two voltage-limiting stages ensure continued safety if either stage fails. No active output current limiting circuit is used. The instrument is 'ia' certified for all zones and 'IIC' for all explosive atmospheres
