Description of Naffco Optical Smoke Detector UL . Standard
Shield photoelectric smoke detectors are designed for residential and commercial applications, including homes, apartments, hospitals, hotels and motels, compliant with UL217's applicable IBC/IFC and NFPA72 standards. , UL1730. Available in a variety of models, detectors are designed to virtually eliminate nuisance alarms and deliver outstanding performance wherever reliable fire protection is required. The range is supplied with a 9VDC alkaline battery for backup in the event of a construction power failure. Verified battery impedance and warning provide low or low battery warning. This detector range offers exclusive patented three-site testing that simulates real 0.85% and 3.5% smoke conditions in full compliance with NFPA72 and UL standards. Options include 135°F self-healing or thermal separation and Form A/Form C dry contacts for remote notification. Tandem connection up to 12 units available on some models; parallel connection of up to 6 units is available on the R models, which can trigger dry contacts parallel wires or local alarms.
