The SIU is an optional device for the system
❌ The SIU provides the system with the ability to establish communication between the system monitoring program (SMP), installed in the personal computer, and the FACPs on the network. The network consists of 64 nodes such that 1 set of SIU and SMP can communicate with up to 63 FACPs. The SIU consists of two parts such as the AC/DC switching power supply part and the communication part. The AC/DC switching power supply section converts AC power to DC power and provides 24 VDC power for the communication section to operate. The communication part includes the central processor, the Arcnet controller, and memory that allows it to communicate with other FACPs on the network. The use of an optional Fiber Optic Interface Module (PCA-2707XA FIM or PCA-N3060-FIM2) together with the SIU provides the system with the ability to use a fiber optic system for the network, 5 VDC Power for the PCA-2707XA FIM or PCA-N3060-FIM2 is also supplied SIU to PCA-2707XA FIM or PCA-N3060-FIM2 upon request.
