Step 1: Close the system main control valve (B).
Step 2: Close the diaphragm water supply valve (P). For dry activated systems, close the air supply valve (T).
Step 3: Open the main drain valve (D), system drain valve (E) and all other auxiliary relief valves. After the water stops draining, close the auxiliary drain valves and system drain valves. Leave the main drain valve (D) open.
Step 4: Press the button on the automatic drain valve (F) to make sure it is open.
Step 5: Remove and clean the diaphragm filter (Q), then reinstall it.
Step 6: Reset the system to automatically activate:

Wet trigger system: replace activated nozzles or reset the emergency button manually.
Dry trigger system: replace activated nozzles or reset emergency button, refill air pressure.
Electrical activation system: resetting the fire alarm cabinet system.
Step 7: Open the manual control station (M) and then open the diaphragm water supply valve (P). After the unfiltered water is discharged from the control station (M), close it.
Step 8: After the filtered water is discharged through the manual resetter (N), press and hold the button on the resetter (N) until the pressure on the diaphragm meter (K) is 1 bar and water stop flowing through the resetter exhaust pipe (N). For wet trigger systems open all relief valves on the trigger line to let the air out then close.
Note: After opening the air release valve on the trigger line, check the resetter (N) to make sure no water is discharged. If water comes out, repeat step 8.
Step 9: Confirm that the deluge valve diaphragm chamber has kept the pressure by:
Temporarily close the diaphragm water supply valve (P) and observe the diaphragm pressure gauge (K).
If the pressure on the meter drops, replace the diaphragm or look for leaks to fix before going to the next step.

If the pressure on the meter does not decrease, reopen the diaphragm water supply valve (P).
Step 10: Partially open the main control valve (B). Close the main drain valve (D) slowly as soon as water is released from the main drain valve (D). Observe for leaks at the automatic drain valve (F), if there is a leak, proceed to deal with it before going to the next step.
Note: When the main control valve (B) is partially opened, the pressure in the diaphragm may increase, which is normal. If the pressure increase is greater than specified by the manufacturer, the pressure must be reduced by temporarily opening and partially opening the control station (M), but not allowing the pressure in the diaphragm chamber (K) to be lower than the pressure. supply water pressure (J) this will cause the deluge valve to fail.
Step 11: Fully open the main control valve (B).
