- IG541 Inergen gas is an environmentally friendly extinguishing agent, consisting of gases that are naturally present in the earth's atmosphere. IG541 is an inert gas, which means it does not participate in combustion. IG541 is non-liquid, non-toxic and non-flammable. Inergen IG541 is a syngas (52% Nitrogen, 40% Argon, 8% CO2) that is mixed and stored at a pressure of 300 bar. It does not conduct electricity, leaves no residue. At the correct design concentration, it is suitable for the protection of occupied areas. IG541 is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of applications. It is suitable for class A, B, C, D and E fires, including risks with live electrical equipment. The IG-541 fire suppression method is based on oxygen depletion.
