Knowing that many people were trapped inside, neighbors tried to break down the door but failed. A witness said that many people used wooden sticks to push hard to break the steel door and it took dozens of minutes to release the hinges. The door didn't open completely so no one could get in. When the police arrived, they continued to push the door with wood, then used pliers to cut the two layers of the lock. Another group used a hammer to break the wall. Witness Tran Ngoc Ha reported: “The fire was fierce. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa (27 years old, who died) climbed onto the roof to call for help, but then the corrugated iron roof collapsed, causing her to slip and fall back into the sea of fire. Tran Trong Hung (Hoa's husband) hugged his 1-year-old daughter, climbed onto the corrugated iron roof, and then jumped to the next house to find a way out. At this time, he threw the baby down for people standing on the ground and then jumped down from a height of nearly 3 meters. According to Mr. Ha, the fire emitted a large amount of heat with a pungent smell. Firefighters, wearing gas masks, rushed in to save people. “Four victims were found in the bathroom area. When the police took them out, no one was burned, but three people died. The 5-year-old baby barely managed to give artificial respiration but also died later, ''said Mr. Ha. Among the dead victims, Vo Ca (5 years old, grandson of Mrs. Lien) was an American overseas Vietnamese who had just returned home a few days ago. On the morning of June 27, when they heard that their son had died, his parents left the US to return to Vietnam. The house where the fire broke out is also where Mr. Hung used as a workshop to repair refrigeration equipment. According to people, on weekdays, homeowners leave air conditioners and air conditioners waiting for repair to close the space. “From the outside to the inside, the house only has a path in the middle. Machines and equipment stacked on top of each other look very dangerous,'' a neighbor said. After the incident, the Dong Nai province's functional forces were present to record, investigate and clarify the incident. Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep came to the scene to direct the remedial work, visit, encourage and offer condolences to the victim's family. Mr. Pham Duc Trung, Head of Quarter 6 (Tan Bien Ward), said that leaders of Tan Bien ward and leaders of Bien Hoa city were also present and supported the victim's family with 29 million VND.
