Detailed description of the Bosch MB-ASC . Audio System Control Circuit - Two RS232 . communication ports - Provides digitally stored message control
- Voltage, 24 VDC operation provided by MB-DCC - 83 mA . capacity
- The BOSCH HMB system will consist of one Main Control Panel and one or more Distribution Boards. The system must be microprocessor based and must be compatible for use with contact closures the Fire Alarm Control Panel, (FACP). The system will have a high-speed communication bus and be capable of 6 channels of combined audio and data on a single pair of wires. The field wiring for the communication bus can be configured for either Type 4 or Type 7 surveillance. The system will be capable of communicating with the Fire Telephone. The system must have a minimum capacity of 2048 monitoring and control points.
- The main control panel must contain the built-in microphone, dual channel digital message repeater, (DMR) and digital tone generator, 120 VAC power supply, and battery charger. The system must be modular and extensible so that additional system control points can be configured. The system will include built-in self-diagnostic routines that will continuously monitor the system status and will indicate the exact type of problem condition if they occur in the system. A fault condition in the system causes a fault signal to be transmitted to the FACP.
- Distribution boards must provide a minimum of 4 "B" (Type Y) loudspeaker circuits, expandable to eight totals. Alternately, the control panel can be configured for 4 Class "A" (Type Z) loudspeaker circuits. The console will provide up to 6 simultaneous audio channels, up to 16 Fire Phone circuits. The amplifier will contain its own power supply, battery charger and auxiliary power supply for other components. Loudspeaker circuits must be monitored for open and short circuit conditions, and be able to withstand transient or continuous short circuit conditions without damage to the system. The system can be configured for General Alarm All Calls, Zone Alarms or Upstairs/Downstairs on request. Closing the communication door will allow immediate transmission of alarms and evacuation messages to the appropriate area. Non-alarm zones can receive alarms and messages on demand or triggered by FACP.
- Alert signal/evacuation message will be broadcast until FACP is reset or until emergency personnel interrupt broadcast with manual page. To prevent unauthorized tampering, the voice evacuation system disables the microphone if the microphone is locked continuously for 3 minutes or more. Systems without this feature will not be accepted.
