The Viking Standard Feedback High Challenge® Upright CMSA Sprinkler VK540 (Viking Standard Feedback High Challenge® Upright CMSA Sprinkler VK540) is a heat-resistant glass sprinkler that is intended to protect high-stack storage jobs in accordance with NFPA 13 for Sprinkler CMSA and FM Global criteria for non-storage and storage nozzles. Viking Nozzle VK540 produces large water droplets through the use of an extra large hole and a special double deflector.
Large water droplets provide the mass required to penetrate the fire of a serious fire. This property allows direct wetting of burning fuel while cooling the atmosphere and may eliminate the requirement for rack injectors in certain circumstances.
- Viking Nozzle VK540 (Upright CMSA) is primarily intended to protect the following types of storage, which tend to pose a serious challenge to Class I, II, III and IV items
• Untapped or exposed plastic
• Expanded plastic is exposed or exposed
Refer to Approval Chart and Design Criteria for CULus FM listing and approval requirements that must be followed. Alternatively, some storage arrangements of idle wooden pallets, paper rolls, spray cans and rubber tires can be protected by the Viking Upright CMSA Sprinkler VK540.
