Loc's wife and son Hoang Thi Khen (19 years old) and Ngo Ha Quoc Anh (7 months old) were burned 80% and 40% respectively. All the victims lived in village 6B, Ea Phe commune, Krong Pak district.
Mr. Hoang Van Luong (60 years old - Khen's father) said that recently, the couple and their daughter often have conflicts. Therefore, Khen carried her newborn baby to her mother's house to stay. “Every day around 4 am, Loc rides a motorbike to ask to take his son home. However, my family forbade him because he was too young. Therefore, he often harassed and threatened people,'' said Mr. Luong. According to Mr. Luong, due to conflict, the couple has been separated for nearly a year. Later, Loc expressed his intention to marry Khen's sister, but his family and neighbors prevented him, so the son-in-law was always angry.
''Around 10 p.m. on June 9, when the family was sleeping, they heard their daughter's cry for help. When I ran out, I saw that the house was engulfed in flames. Khen and Ninh carried two young children out, but their clothes were on fire. the torch should lie on the ground,'' Mr. Luong recalled. The father added that at this time, he discovered that his son-in-law was still in the house, so he urged everyone to get water to put out the fire to pull it out. However, due to the heat of the fire, Loc could not be saved. In the afternoon of the same day, Doctor Nguyen Thanh Phuoc - Head of Orthopedic Trauma Department (Dak Lak Provincial General Hospital) said that the health of 4 patients in the burn case was temporarily stable. However, all patients have 3rd degree burns, so they are still under active monitoring.
“The patient's family situation is difficult, so the hospital will initially waive all treatment costs. The unit also calls on benefactors to contribute to transfer the patients to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) for treatment,'' said Doctor Phuoc.
