Foam generators are used in one of the most common applications for sump protection in vertical liquid storage tanks with internal floating roofs with low expansion foam systems. The application of suction foam is on a risk basis including the area within the annular ring between the rim of the floating roof and the tank shell. Commonly used Foam system design guidelines conform to the NFPA 11 standard. Foam manufacturers are defined by NFPA 11 as a Class II discharge outlet to provide low-expanding suction foam to the seal. Foam manufacturers are widely used with Inline inductors, pressure balanced foam systems, bladder tank systems or foam tenders. The foam generator is an air suction foam generator connected to the foam filling machine to deliver a gentle suction foam the tank sealing area. The foam generator covers a wide range of foam solutions 75 to 1200 liters per minute at an inlet pressure of 2.8 to 7 kg/m2. Each foam generator is provided with an orifice plate, designed for the required flow at the inlet pressure. Holes can replace the field in case of changing design parameters. Foam is created by introducing air a stream of foam solution. The inlet of the foam generator is designed to generate a venturi jet that draws air the foam solution stream. Air is drawn the foam solution through holes located on the foam generator covered with stainless steel mesh to exclude birds and nesting insects. The aerated foam is directed the filling machine for gentle application of the expanded foam. The faucets are available in different models. Removing the cover the top of the chamber allows the system to be tested and an expanded foam sample drawn, without removing the air cushion or disconnecting the foam chamber the tank. The weird broken glass disc (air seal) can be replaced very easily.
