SMP is software installed in a personal computer By connecting to a FACP network through a system interface unit (SIU), SMP provides the system with the ability to monitor FACPs on the network, display currently occurring events and system controls. SMP includes three modes such as design mode, run mode and remote mode. In Design Mode, the registered device symbols arranged on the floor plan come DXF or BMP formatted data files, and the sorted symbols are given their addresses relative to address in the FACP. SMP can use FACP configuration data to prepare symbols of addressing devices. By reading FACP configuration data itself, SMP automatically generates a list of device symbols that need to be configured on the floor plan. A node number and cluster number are assigned to each SMP to identify it on the network.
