- Near 10:00 p.m. on January 8, people discovered a fire breaking out on the ground floor of a 3-story house, with the door locked, on Bach Dang Street (near Hang Xanh intersection) and then spreading to the upper floors.
- The whole area was in chaos, shouting at each other to knock on the door of the house to put out the fire but failed. In the apartment next door, people rushed to run away when the fire showed signs of spreading. Some people ran to the upper floors, calling for help.
- ''There was so much smoke and fire, 3 people ran out, saying there were 4 people stuck above,'' said a witness.
- The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire immediately. They wore gas masks and divided into several groups to approach the scene.
- Firefighters climbed the ladder to the top, approached the 4 trapped people and brought them down. Some women were evacuated in panic, and a man about 60 years old was seriously burned. - The fire caused houses at 79 and 81 Bach Dang to be scorched in many places. The cause is being investigated.
